July 2011 was where it all began. The 6 week Mongol Rally, driving from London to Ulaanbaatar in a 1.1L Citroen Saxo - christened 'Mitch'.

Team Mongol Hair weaved, crawled, pushed, slid & hiccuped its way through some of the most ridiculous roads the world could throw up. However, after a total of 36 days on the road, Mitch limped

his way to the finish line (with only 1 gear left). Check out the story of the Rally here - www.MongolHair.com

After a couple of months (well, weeks) back into reality, and normal day to day life did not appeal. The next adventure to sign up to was the Mototaxi Junket. 2 weeks driving the length of Peru in 'Miguel' - who can only really be described as a motorbike with a sofa strapped on the back. However, the terrain could not defeat Team QuecHair - www.QuecHair.com

The last trip came in the form of the Zhonghua Jam. A 2 week escapade across the 'road less travelled' parts of China. This time in the worst hire car that was possible (& another unreliable Citroen) - 'Ma Xi Bu' or 'Marshall'. There was a bonus member to the ShaoHair team in the form of Anne-meike (AM) - an honourary, and now lifetime Hair - www.ShaoHair.com

And here we are now. Still not even 12 months since the first Hair'venture, but now into our fourth trip.

There are only a few rules:

  1. The vehicle must be unreliable, and generally unsuitable for the trip
  2. No real set route or agenda, and as off the beaten track as possible
  3. Jonathan must have no idea where we are going from one day to the next
  4. Completely under-prepared for the journey ahead

The Story

Pretty much a couple of random strangers met in Shanghai, and decided to cross a third of the planet in a god awful motor vehicle.

Once that was completed, there was basically no stopping the 'Hairs'.
